The “Asteroid” is a unique and unconventional masterpiece.
Created from a meteorite of the Asteroid belt, this exceptional piece transcends the conventional norms and standards of horology.
An invitation to touch a fragment of the cosmos.
At the beginning of GRECO-Genève
Over 30 years ago, a meteorite was acquired in the Swiss ski resort of Verbier.
Picture a store where you could find fossilized dinosaur eggs or giant mammoth tusks. Among these wonders, a meteorite from the Asteroid belt was selected and metamorphosed from its raw state into a genuine timepiece.
The first GRECO-Genève watch was born.
Immerse yourself in an infinitely distant past, and reflect on both our existence and the perpetual flow of time.
A celestial timepiece
This unique piece was carved from the ‘Campo del Cielo’ meteorite, which collided with Earth 5,000 years ago, and was discovered in Argentina by Spanish colonists.
The fragment used for the watch was extracted from a colossal 100-ton mass, one of the largest meteorites ever found on Earth. Cut from this mass, the Asteroid preserves its original appearance, retaining a raw essence, and bearing the marks of its journey through time and the cosmos.
The movement of this exceptional piece incorporates fluorescent pigments that come to life under ultraviolet light, a distinctive signature shared by many GRECO-Genève watch models.
Keen observers will recognize ‘extraterrestrial hieroglyphs’ engraved on the white gold back bezel; a nod to science fiction classics and our Martian friends.
